the baden-württemberg ministry of the environment plans to dispose of low-level radioactive construction rubble in conventional construction rubble recycling landfills - like other federal states.

what does this mean for our region? radioactive building rubble from the philippsburg nuclear power plant and the nuclear ruins of the former karlsruhe nuclear research center on today's kit campus north is also disposed of in household waste landfills, burned in incineration plants or used as residues if the value falls below a certain limit. without our knowledge, we may find them again in cooking pots, radiators, braces, in children's playgrounds, etc.

the 120th german medical association and the baden-württemberg state medical association warn of the risks of this uncontrolled disposal. major and lasting risks arise from the smallest, radiant substances that are released into the air or groundwater.

the radiation limits are arbitrarily set. the measurement methods have only one goal: to “measure” the waste material from radiation, release it and forget it. we show what alternatives there are to “release”.
