organizer: karlsruhe alliance against new generations of nuclear reactors
largely unnoticed by the public, but supported with funds from the federal ministry of research and euratom, european basic research for new ones is being carried out at the karlsruhe institute of technology (kit) and the joint research center-karlsruhe (jrc-dirg) of the european union thorium liquid salt reactors advanced. these are promoted as particularly safe, even though their design allows for the “diversion” of fissile uranium 233. this opens the door to the construction of simple atomic bombs, such as those used in japan at the end of world war ii. this danger is hushed up in almost all media.
 we would like to address this shortcoming with our information event and at the same time deal with the erroneous opinion that the new nuclear reactors could make a significant contribution to solving the climate problem.
