when “nuclear power” sounded like happiness and prosperity

from processing i had high hopes for the history of the karlsruhe nuclear research center (kfz) in a two-day event with short lectures - unfortunately in vain. sylvia kotting-uhl from the greens was the only one who spoke about tacheles - but other than that? on the contrary: the head of the kit archive even gets excited when he sees pictures of hot cells or containers with spent fuel rods and mountains of nuclear waste in glass molds and barrels. in addition, critical questions were blocked on the first day and only allowed on the next day under different management.

coming to terms with the history of the kfz naturally represents a paradoxical requirement for the organizers (zak, kit archive) because they are part of the kit and have a common president with the authority to give instructions. you would actually have to admit that it is not possible to deal with the issue objectively and say: that's exactly what we're not doing, someone from the outside has to do it.

shouldn't the state of bw speak plainly with the president so that it might come to light that there were already some in the 1990s who tended not to be friendly to nuclear energy and who researched alternative energies early on? that accidents were the order of the day and nuclear energy critics such as prof. dr. rer.nat. dr. h.c. frederic vester (for years a guest lecturer at the kfz karlsruhe, who helped expand the radiobiochemistry courses in the kfz and divulged the disturbing “side effects” of nuclear energy) should be silenced by defamatory writings from the gesellschaft für reaktorsicherheit mbh? kit was a stakeholder in nuclear energy, or you only bring positive things about nuclear energy, then everyone says, yes, what else can come from karlsruhe.
because all research institutes in a kit framework are under a presidium, they cannot, like investigative journalism, pursue investigations and write history - right?
