nuclear power is dead. a truth - at least in germany - that of people like that letter writer mr. göller doesn't like to be heard.

he hopes that there are still states that want to continue to hold on to this antiquated technology - through attempts to revive it with the help of research on new 4th generation nuclear reactors. he also wants to save the climate with thousands of new reactors spread across the planet. these should then also be carried out in third world countries, emerging countries, unstable and terrorist states in order to make his dream of omnipresent radioactivity a reality.

the hope in the limitless power of technology and science as well as research "no matter what the devil", has not been able to cloud his belief in the spirit of research, despite unspeakable catastrophes with nuclear reactors, the contamination of the world with radioactive waste and the daily production of new nuclear waste.

it's just a good thing that pupils, young people, students, parents and critical scientists who take to the streets on fridays all over the world want to take a different path here too - because unfortunately there have been enough horror scenarios like in chernobyl, fukushima, asse and the many other contaminations with man-made radioactivity and will become the sword of damocles, especially for future generations.

i think it is time to let the genius of researchers flow specifically into renewable energy projects - for safety and security the survivability of people, the climate and the world as we urgently need it - not that of the reactors. true to the motto: get rid of coal and nuclear power - our electricity is renewable.
