cheese coating is a plastic. the paste is applied to the unripened cheese (as soon as it is dry) with a brush or a small pan. but only one page. you then let it dry and then turn the cheese after 1-2 days and spread it on the next side. repeat again so that there are at least 2 layers on the cheese.


the cheese wax is an industrially produced wax, not beeswax. it is biodegradable, but certainly not within a year!! normally, cheese wax is disposed of with household waste.
the well-dried and already ripe cheese is dipped into the warmed wax. wax should actually only serve as protection or sales packaging.
